Am 13. August (US Datum) kommt ein Leckerbissen für Elvis Presley-Fans auf dem Markt. Es handelt sich um die dreier DVD-Box, Volume 1-3, Elvis: The Great Performances. 'Volume 3: From the Waist Up', wird von Bono kommentiert, und zeigt frühe Auftritte von Elvis in der Ed Sullivan Show, mehrere Clips wie z. B. 'That's All Right Mama' und weiteres seltenes Material. "Volume 3: From the Waist Up" is narrated by U2 frontman Bono and focuses on Elvis' earliest immersion into the music world. Eight appearances on "The Ed Sullivan Show" are included, as are a number of clips featuring such tracks as "That's All Right Mama" and "Mystery Train" set to rare footage."

Wer schon Angst gehabt hat, dass Bono sich irgendwann mal ganz der Politik widmet, und dafür die Musik vernachlässigt, braucht sich keine Sorgen mehr zu machen. Wie Bono heute dem 'Hot Press' Magazin erzählt hat, hat er kein Interesse, ein Politiker zu werden. Sogar die Möglichkeit irischer Präsidentschaftskandidat zu werden lässt ihn kalt! Bono: "Politicians don't turn me on, politics doesn't turn me on, the way music does. I have a lot more respect for them than I used to. They work a lot harder than I thought...but I don't want to be one. Nothing comes close to the feeling of waking up with a melody in your head and having a band like U2 to help you capture it." Über solche Worte kann man sich doch nur freuen!

Letzten Samstag (29. Juni) ist David Bowie, der zur Zeit auf Tournee ist, in der 'Royal Festival Hall' in London aufgetreten. Das hochgelobte Konzert hatte natürlich auch viele Ehrengäste im Publikum wie z. B. Robert Smith, Kylie Minogue, Brian Eno, und wie könnte es anders sein, auch Bono war dabei. Und Bono war von dem Konzert so begeistert, dass er David Bowie nach der Show um den Hals gefallen ist und ihn geküsst hat! Bowie dazu: "I can't remember a time when I was received so warmly. It was fantastic." Das einzige David Bowie Konzert, der 'Heathen Tour', in Deutschland findet am 12. Juli im Kölner E-Werk statt, und wird vom Rockpalast aufgezeichnet.

Bei seiner Dankesrede für den "Best Fight" MTV Movie Award 2002 sprach Chris Tucker über seine Reise nach Afrika mit Bono und US Finanzminister Paul O'Neill. So meinte Chris Tucker "I have seen some things over there that changed my life" und widmete den Preis allen AIDS infizierten Frauen und Kindern die er während dieser Reise begegnet ist.
