# Pop und Politik

Mit seinem neuen Song **Shoot The Dog** und dem dazugehörigen Video stößt George Michael auf Kritik und Zensur. Kein Wunder, denn durch die politische Aussage in Text und Bild hat er einige Gemüter erregt. Chrissy Iley von Scotsman.com wirft einen Blick auf die musikalische und persönliche Entwicklung von **George Michael**, und erkennt sehr gut, dass sich nicht jeder Popmusiker mit Politik befassen sollte. Sie stellt natürlich auch einen Vergleich mit **Bono** auf: *"There is a place for heartfelt politics in pop. Bono, for one, can do it. But then Bono could sing about a cup of tea with angelic conviction because the U2 man has truth, has enlightenment, has worked out his place between his devils and his angels. George Michael is still trying to find his, still fumbling, so he is in danger of looking stupid, especially when his lyrics are riddled with cliché and the tune is unsummonable."* Dem haben wir nichts mehr hinzuzufügen.
