U2 sind für die diesjährigen World Soundtrack Awards in der Kategorie 'Best Original Song Written For Film' mit 'The Hands that built America' aus dem Film 'Gangs of New York' nominiert worden. Ebenfalls nominiert sind: 'Burn It Blue' (Frida), 'Gollum's Song' (Herr der Ringe - die zwei Türme), 'Jungle Rhythm' (Dschungelbuch 2), 'Lose Yourself' (8 Mile), and 'Nothing In This World' (Der stille Amerikaner). Die Awards werden am 12. Oktober diesen Jahres in Ghent, Belgien, verliehen.
