Die Gerüchte haben sich bestätigt: Edge hat gegenüber dem Rolling Stone Magazin erklärt, dass sich die Band zu Aufnahmen für ein neues Album im Studio befindet. Als Produzenten haben sie demnach den legendären Rick Rubin dabei. Edge: "We're working on new songs and getting lost in the music. I don't think we're going to try and think too much about what we're going to do with it yet, we're just going to do a lot of writing and just see what gives." Und weiter: "We're giving ourselves the luxury of just working on the songs. There's some amazing things coming through." Auf die Frage, ob die Gruppe auch mal wieder mit Daniel Lanois und Brian Eno als Produzenten zusammen arbeiten werde, lachte er: "You might be surprised how quickly that happens."
